Former Master of the Universe: It's Not Fair!

It's not a pretty sight. Can you read it all the way to the end? I couldn't.

With so many people in this country really hurting, you'd think some people would realize their problems don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. I guess not.

Actually, I had a different reaction to this letter. If you can set aside the ridiculously large amounts of remuneration involved, this guy was saying two pretty reasonable things: 1) We didn't cause this mess; we signed on to solve it for a salary of $1 a year; and 2) Anyone would be nuts to do such a thing, but you promised to pay us a bonus when it was all done. I did my part and now I'm considered a pariah and a leech and you didn't defend us to Congress. So I quit, and I'm donating my bonus to charities that help the victims of this economic mees we're in.

Seems pretty reasonable to me. At least he was willing to publish his name. I'm cutting him some slack.

I made it through, and I don't really have a huge problem with what he's saying. I don't know the ins and outs of what exactly went wrong in AIGFP, but credit-default swaps were the real killer by all accounts, so if he didn't have a part in that, he's got a point. I mean, not everybody at AIG can be an evil SOB, so it must be pretty frustrating to get vilified every day for things you didn't do.

I am just stopping by to say thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such an interesting comment. I grew up in the area of Negro Mountain and never did know where the name came from. The Wiki article was news to me. I didn't even know there was so much ado about a mountain's name. I personally never gave the name a seconds thought, I guess when you have heard it called that all your life, it is just another name for a mountain! I will agree that the winters in that area can be very harsh, we just moved out of that area 11 years ago. Again, thanks for your visit and comments, they are always welcome. Ann
