I answered 25 questions about what I call things and how I pronounce them, and the NY Times guessed I was from Newark.
Give it a try. And a tip of the hat to Paul Krugman (also "from" Newark; or Yonkers; or New York).
The alternate cities for me were Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

I took the test. Strongest red areas were New York City, Rockford, Il, and Buffalo, NY. To learn to talk Minnesotan, according to Kevin Kling, one should repeat this phrase at every opportunity. "I ain't gonna pay no dollar for a corn muffin that's half dough!" I assume they call Coke "pop" in Chicago?.
